Conquer the fear of flying

When we talk about the fear of flying, we’re talking about a particular type of phobia, the aerophobia.

The person who is afraid to fly often has symptoms of anxiety when faced with the situation of having to fly. Anxiety can manifest symptomatically with tachycardia, sweating, shortness of breath, breathlessness, vomiting or fine tremor.

In the case of fear of flying, as in the case of any phobia, this fear will curtail the life of the person who either decides never to fly or does it  under a sense of extreme distress. To resolve the fear of flying briefly there are several forms of  therapies such as cognitive or behavioral therapies. Usually in these therapies it is used the technique of systematic desensitization. This technique consists of exposing the person gradually and with support from the therapist in order to conquer their fear of flying.

The fear of flying can also be treated in the office of a psychoanalyst, who will find out where it comes from. Although psychoanalysis is not usually the first choice therapy to treat phobias but it may work. Well, sometimes people say to the  analyst that their reason to go to him  is their fear of flying  but  just after a  few sessions they reveal  other conflicts that led to this fear of flying.
